What started out as an idea, LetThemSeeCake soon became a reality when couple team Gareth Davies and Ryan Rowe begun their business journey together as an old shop became available beneath their home in the heart of Cardiff in Victoria Park.

 

Opening a cake shop in 2020 seemed the right thing to do for the pair in the middle of a pandemic, and what an impression they have made!  Turning what was a sports clinic into one of the most talked about cake shops in South Wales and Cardiff’s most instagrammable bakery, adding a burst of colour to the city's competitive foodie scene.

 

Gareth Davies (creative director) was born and raised on a farm in the Welsh hills of Aberystwyth, West Wales.  Cake has always been a way of life for him.  He baked cakes with his mamgu (gran) for the village events and studied to be a chef in his local college.  Gareth went on to work in local 5* hotels and with the love and passion for his craft, he has also won several gold awards in Cake Internationals in London and Birmingham.

Gareth's passion is to give customers great memories by creating visually stylish buttercream cakes that taste just as flavoursome.  He has also designed a cake shop that he believes will be a part of the future generations' magical memories of their time spent in Victoria Park.

 

Ryan Rowe’s (managing director) strengths lay outside of the baking kitchen, but as chief cake tester and the butter to Gareth’s sugar, Ryan’s experience in business, finance, and hospitality makes the perfect ingredient to the well risen sponge that is LetThemSeeCake.  Originally hailing from Peterborough, Ryan fell in love with Cardiff upon his move to the Welsh capital in 2012.  Although completing an MESci in Geology at Cardiff University and working in property before his journey into the world of cake, Ryan has transferred his passion for operations and logistics to make the customer experience at LetThemSeeCake 5*.  With LetThemSeeCake being a proud, Welsh business, Ryan has earned his honorary ‘Cymro' badge by learning Welsh to converse with local customers.

LTSC wouldn't be what it is today without its incredibly diverse team, creating and designing freshly baked treats daily in their idyllic cake shop, as well as specialising in making occasions that little bit more special with their stunning picture-perfect cakes.
