Sourdough is undeniably delicious and proven to be a better bread choice, but baking it yourself can seem daunting! our day course will demystify the ancient art of 3 ingredient bread and set you on your way to confidently bake your own at home.
Join our expert bakers in our classroom above Pettigrews fully equipped Bakery where you will get personal instruction from one of our skilled artisan bakers in a small class environment.
What does our 'Sourdough Introduction' full day course offer?
- We offer a fun and relaxed full day class, kicking off with the theory of Sourdough followed by the hands on bread production.
- Lunch & refreshments throughout the day are provided.
- Mixing, dough fermentation, shaping and moulding skills
- Attendees will leave with a bakers must have tool bag including Organic Shipton Mill flour, recipes, their own Sourdough Loaves, their personal sourdough starter and instructions for looking after it at home along with the knowledge and confidence to get baking.
- We will focus on wheat & rye Sourdough baking in this course.
- Troubleshooting, your questions answered.

The hours are 8am for breakfast followed by an 8:30am prompt start.
We aim for the loaves you've hand made to be out of the ovens by 5pm for a 5:30pm departure

This course is held at Let Them See Cake directly above Pettigrew Bakeries. Public on-street car parking is available nearby but we cannot guarantee a parking space. There is a bus stop outside the Bakery, reachable by bus numbers 13, 17, 18, 64, X1 from Cardiff city centre.

Terms & Conditions:
The course is generally suitable for adults over 16 years of age
Joining instructions will be issued 2 weeks prior to the course date.
The venue reserves the right to cancel or change the date of the course without notice, however as much contact will be sought with attendees and alternative dates will be found in this unlikely event.
Please make us aware of any special dietary requirements for refreshments at time of booking, note we use Wheat flour and Gluten is present throughout the bakery building.
Payment & Cancellation - Full payment is required at time of booking. Cancellation for any reason must be made at least 14 days prior to the course date for a full refund. A 50% refund can be obtained up until 7 days prior to the course date. For cancellations made within 7 days of the course date a single date transfer will be offered, but no refund will be available. Transfers must be used within 6 months of the original course date.
Gift Vouchers - Give the wonderful gift of a course voucher. We require a provisional date to be booked with each voucher purchased to guarantee a space for each candidate. Bookings must be confirmed at least 7 days prior to the course start date and can be moved up until this time.
