Afternoon Tea Preserving:
Cake Lovers & Cake Makers Rejoice, we'll be making the most delicious preserves! We'll use 3 different techniques for all of your cake making needs, making our own curds (you will never buy them again!), seedless jam and a sexy French Style Strawberry Jam from the Queen of Jams, Christine Ferber. We'll end the day with a lovely afternoon tea of scones and clotted cream where you can taste test your creations, and you'll have jars to take home too.
You'll learn the basics in a very relaxed and fun environment, making jams and curds, and THE most difficult of all, the elusive Strawberry Jam. You'll be able to pimp up your jars of deliciousness, making your very own creations.
(Time - 10am til 3pm, light lunch about 12:30 with cheeses, labne, houmous, breads, home made coleslaw and sourkraut, and then about 2:30 afternoon tea taste testing with some scones and clotted cream.)
Angharad owns The Preservation Society, a multi award winning preserving business based in Chepstow. She loves using local seasonal ingredients and sharing her passion and experience for preserving and sharing the jam love. She recently returned from a trip to Cameroon where she taught over 40 ladies the art of preserving, they have since taught a further 200 and she also teaches in her local prison.
This course aims to be a fun source of creativity for novices and seasoned bakers alike so we don’t put limits on abilities – we just want you to bring a bake load of enthusiasm!
This course is held at LetThemSeeCake Shop and Classroom. Public on-street car parking is available nearby but we cannot guarantee a parking space. There is a bus stop outside the Bakery, reachable by bus numbers 13, 17, 18, 64, X1 from Cardiff city centre.
The course price includes all baking ingredients, materials, recipe and icing handouts to take home, equipment, refreshments will be supplied.

The venue reserves the right to cancel or change the date of the course without notice, however as much contact will be sought with attendees and alternative dates will be found in this unlikely event.
Please make us aware of any special dietary requirements for refreshments at time of booking, note we use Wheat flour and Gluten is present throughout the bakery building.
Payment & Cancellation - Full payment is required at time of booking. Cancellation for any reason must be made at least 14 days prior to the course date for a full refund. A 50% refund can be obtained up until 7 days prior to the course date. For cancellations made within 7 days of the course date a single date transfer will be offered, but no refund will be available. Transfers must be used within 6 months of the original course date.
